Free Gardening Class Series

Full Description

From February through November, Athens-Clarke County Extension is holding a free gardening class each month. Taught by Master Gardener Extension Volunteers, these classes take place in the auditorium of the Athens-Clarke County Library (2025 Baxter St.) from 6:00 -7:30 p.m. 

Intended for gardeners of all experience and skill levels, the monthly classes will cover a variety of topics such as seasonal vegetable gardening, composting, beekeeping, and more. Registration is required.

May 5-11, 2019 is International Composting Awareness Week.  Join us on May 8 for our backyard composting class for the May installment of our Free Monthly Gardening Series.  This session will include an informative presentation on the basic concepts of composting, the importance of efficient composting, and recommended structures and methods.  Gardeners of all skill levels are welcome.  Please register by Tuesday, May 7. 

The June 12th gardening class will focus on water wise gardening.  Topics to be addressed in this session includes the importance of water conservation, methods for stewarding water efficiently in your garden and managing water loss through evaporation.  Please register by Tuesday, June 11.
