“Emotions” is a celebration of dance and the various emotions that movement expresses. Music will range from Gospel to African Drumming to upbeat contemporary and showcase many emotional aspects. Various styles of dance will be presented including ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, and praise dance.

This performance highlights the advanced level students enrolled in East Athens Educational Dance Center’s resident dance company, GIFTED Performing Ensemble.

Tickets cost $10 in advance and $12 at the door, available online and at the East Athens Educational Dance Center on Wednesdays from 1-7pm and Fridays from 9am - 3pm.  For assistance, please call 706.613.3624.

The East Athens Educational Dance Center offers an array of dance classes for young and older dancers. Starting at the East Athens Community Center, the success of the program led to a relocation to Dudley Park. The new SPLOST- funded dance center officially opened November 5, 2005.

Features & Amenities

The Dance Center is more than 15,500 square feet in size and includes state of the art dance studios and a 5,000 square foot multipurpose area. The center boasts a state of the art audio visual sound system also.

The multipurpose room is designed to be a black box and utilized for performances as well. Other amenities include a catwalk around the perimeter of the multipurpose room to be utilized to aim lights and assist with performances.

The building is the first Athens-Clarke County government building designed to meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards.

East Athens Educational Dance Center  has online registration for its variety of dance classes for adults and children in different disciplines.  All programs are open to Athens-Clarke County residents and non county residents.  All registration takes place at www.accgov.com/leisure

Those wishing to apply for or renew a scholarship, must do so at least five business day prior to registering for a camp or program.
