    November 4, 2019, 8:00 AM - November 15, 2019, 5:00 PM @ All Around Athens

National GIS Day falls on Wednesday, November 13 this year. GIS (or Geographic Information System) is an integral part of stormwater management, from creating maps of stormwater infrastructure and polluted streams, to tracking the placement of green infrastructure practices. Geography is embedded into almost everything we do. In honor of this national celebration, ACC Stormwater is encouraging everyone to participate in our official Geocache GeoTrail, “Water Logged.” The geocache trail, which will bring participants up close and personal with several good examples of stormwater management and green infrastructure, launched on November 14 of 2015. Interested participants should visit www.geocaching.com and search for “Water Logged.” Anyone who completes the trail and logs all caches is eligible to receive a prize! All you need is a cell phone with GPS and internet access. For more information, email stormwater@accgov.com or call 706-613-3440.

  2. Toilet Flapper Promo - Put Your Toilet on a Pedestal

    November 1, 2019, 8:00 AM - November 30, 2019, 3:00 PM @ Normal Hardware

A toilet is not just a toilet. It's a life-saver, dignity-protector, and opportunity-maker. World Toilet Day is held every November 19 to raise awareness of the importance of toilets to ensure no one is left behind without sanitation. This World Toilet Day, put your toilet on a pedestal and keep it well maintained. The toilet flapper - the plug that falls against the drain hole inside the tank and holds water in until the toilet is flushed - can become bent or chipped, which can result in toilet leaks and higher water bills. Replacing a flapper is a simple and inexpensive repair most can do themselves. Pick up a flapper* during the month of November at Normal Hardware. *Korky universal 2-inch & 3-inch flappers only, one per customer while supplies last
