"Journey through the Skies" Planetarium Program

The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department will present will “Journey through the Stars” this fall at the planetarium at Sandy Creek Nature Center.

 “Fall Sky” is scheduled for Saturday, September 21 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.  Learn what constellation, stars and planets are visible and what astronomical events are coming up in the fall.  Register for this session.

“Fall Sky: Spooky Skies” is planned for Saturday, October 19 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Do blood moons exist?  Are there monsters in the sky?  Join us for a spooktacular planetarium show.   Register for this session.

“Zoo in the Sky” is set for Saturday, November 16 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Learn about the creatures that call the stars their homes.  There are animals we know today and mythical creatures of the past.  Register for this session.

The program fee is $2 for an Athens-Clarke County resident and $3 for a non-Athens-Clarke County resident per session.   Online registration is required.

This program has an admission fee and is not scholarship eligible. Pre-registration is required. All participants must register. No children under five years of age. Children must be accompanied by an adult. 

 Sandy Creek Nature Center, located at 205 Old Commerce Road, is a facility of the Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department.
