Solid Waste Downtown Collections Public Meeting on April 16

Solid Waste Downtown Collection Meetings on Monday, April 16

The ACC Solid Waste Department will hold two public meetings on Monday, April 16 to discuss options for the collection of trash and recycling for all of downtown Athens. The public meetings follow a discussion of these options with the Mayor and Commission at their March 13 Work Session.

The public meetings are structured meetings rather than a drop-in format. Each meeting will begin with a brief presentation from the ACC Solid Waste Department about the collection options being considered and then allow time for questions afterwards. Public comment will be accepted at each meeting and after the meetings.

While the meetings will discuss collection for all of downtown Athens, not just Clayton Street, potential changes may be incorporated into some of the Clayton Street designs.
