Another Successful MLK Day of Service

The 2017 Athens Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service brought over 1,000 volunteers together to lend a hand at 18 different sites across Athens-Clarke County. ACC Stormwater was proud to be a part of this event, from sitting on the Steering Committee to helping lead 75 volunteers in a Trail Creek habitat restoration project on the Day of Service. We want to thank all of the hardworking volunteers, steering committee members, and generous sponsors for being a part of this community event and making Athens a better place to live.
The MLK Day of Service is organized by ACC Housing and Community Development, ACC Leisure Services, ACC Stormwater, Athens Community Council on Aging, Athens Land Trust, Flanigan’s Portrait Studio, Interfaith Hospitality Network, Keep Athens-Clarke County Beautiful, UGA Center for Leadership and Service, United Way of Northeast Georgia, and private citizens.
