The Lyndon House Arts Center is part of a city-wide multi-venue series of exhibits consisting of works from The Do Good Fund Collection. “Pictures of Us,” at the Lyndon House Arts Center, will feature portrait photography by artists working in the Southern region. Facebook Event

Photo Portfolio Review
Friday, February 19, 10:00 – 2:00 pm
In conjunction with the exhibit, a Portfolio Review will be led by three artists represented in The Do Good Fund collection and whose work is on display in this city-wide series. Mark Steinmetz, an Athens-based artist, and Guggenheim Fellow, artist Baldwin Lee, an NEA Fellow and Mike Smith, Professor of Photography, East Tennessee State, will be available for individual consultations. Panel Discussion
Friday, February 19, 3:00 – 4:30 pm

A Photography Panel Discussion will follow the Portfolio Review. In addition to the portfolio reviewer artists, joining them will be Jill Frank, an Atlanta-based photographer, Michael David Murphy, Program Manager of Atlanta Celebrates Photography, and our panel moderator, Marni Shindelman, Lecturer at the Dodd School. Brunch & Learn: To Market, To Market: Best Practices for Artists at Craft Fairs

Join us and our partner Athens Area Arts Council for a discussion with Serra Ferguson, founder and operator of Indie South Fair, who will offer guidance in completing an application, instruct on designing an inviting booth and will offer suggestions about communicating with customers. $15 admission. Free to AAArts Council and LHAC members. Coffee provided by our official sponsor, Jittery Joes. Light brunch fare also provided. Spence Townsend examines animals, people and spaces through a fantastical lens, creating paintings that vibrate with color, pulse with imaginative energy and exude humor. He moved from Hattiesburg, Mississippi to attend graduate school at the University of Georgia in 2013. Townsend currently lives in Athens with his lovely wife Julia, and their darling dog Debbie Hairy.

Teen Photography Workshop

 2 Saturdays, February 20 & 27, 1:00- 4:00pm

This workshop, inspired by the current exhibition, Pictures of Us, Photography from The Do Good Fund, will support and instruct teens in taking photos and conducting interviews of senior community members to create photography storytelling portraits.
