"This is It Service Industry Artists " Exhibition at Lyndon House Arts Center

Thursday, September 5, 2019

Lyndon House Arts Center is pleased to announce “This Is It!” an exhibition of artworks by Athens area artists working in the service industry. Please join us for the opening reception on September 5, 6 – 8 pm.

Athens is a wonderful town for creative people to call home. Many artists move here for the music scene, or for the university…. and then never want to leave. Who would want to leave this wonderful town?! Not unlike other cities across the US, to accommodate a lifestyle in Athens, many artists earn wages working in service industry when not producing in their studios. “This Is It!” highlights just a few of those artists, focusing on artists working in the food and beverage sector. Among the artists included in the exhibit are Lucy Calhoun, Toby Cole, Chris Collins, Kayla Cox, Jess Dunlap, Alexei Gural, Anna LeBar, Maximos Salzman, Elinor Saragoussi, Jessica Smith, Vernon Thornsberry, and Robyn Waserman.

“This Is It!” will be on view through November 16, 2019.  Gallery hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 9:00 p.m., and Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  LHAC is closed on Saturdays when there is a home UGA football game.
