The Athens-Clarke County Water Conservation Office is celebrating "Shower Better Month" by giving away free WaterSense showerheads all month at the Water Conservation Office, Snipes Water Resources Center, Normal Hardware, and DeVore and Johnson. Customers must reside in Athens-Clarke County and pledge to install the showerhead. (One per household while supplies last.) This offer is valid from October 1 to October 31, 2014. Contact the location where you will be picking up your showerhead or the Water Conservation Office at 706-613-3729 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
What's a "Better" shower? A shower that uses less water! Showering accounts for nearly 17 percent of our residential indoor water use, or about 30 gallons per day. Energy is also required to heat that water, so every drop you save can result in energy and utility bill savings.
In just one year, a WaterSense labeled showerhead can save the average family the amount of water it takes to wash more than 70 loads of laundry and the amount of electricity used to power its home for 13 days!
Like all WaterSense labeled products, showerhead models that earn the WaterSense label are independently certified to meet U.S. Environmental Protection Agency criteria for water savings and performance. You’ll get the same level of spray force and water coverage you’ve come to expect, which means you really will shower better.
