Along with many other beautification projects, Keep Athens-Clarke County Beautiful administers the Adopt-A-Highway Program for all county maintained roads. With approximately 75 Adopt-A-Highway groups in our county, KACCB honors the groups that go above and beyond the requirements of the program.
This Year KACCB would like to recognize Bag the Bag UGA as the 2018 Adopt-A-Highway group of the year!
They have been with the program for two years and have taken on the difficult stretch of road that is Barnett Shoals from Lexington Highway to Stroud Street. They host community volunteer days, get a lot of UGA students involved in greening our community, and host projects at their site for the MLK Day of Service and Rivers Alive. Their dedication and willingness to take on an especially littered stretch of road caught our attention. Their dedication to a clean earth and their passion and outreach to achieve that mission make them an especially worthy Adopt-a-Highway group.
We thank them for their dedication to the Adopt-A-Highway Program and their volunteerism in Athens-Clarke County.
