Bring One for the Chipper

January 5th, 2019
9 AM to 1 PM

Residents can recycle their Christmas tree and metal wreaths at any location and will receive a free tree seedling (Dogwood, Swamp Chestnut Oaks, and Persimmon).

This year the Chipper sites will also accept your Christmas lights for recycling DURING THE CHIPPER EVENT on January 5th from 9 am to 1 pm. If you need to recycle lights before or after those times, they can be recycled at the CHaRM Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 am to 7 pm and Saturdays from 7 am to Noon.

*Christmas trees must be free of ornaments, lights, tinsel, etc*
and wreaths should be free of all greenery and bows.

*Recycling Centers are open December 25th to January 10th. These sites are unstaffed (except during the January 5th event), but you may deposit your tree in the specially marked rolloffs. Undecorated trees put out for leaf and limb will also be recycled. Check the Leaf & Limb schedule to determine the pick-up schedule for your zone. You can also drop off Christmas trees at the Athens-Clarke County Landfill for recycling free of charge.
