The mission of the Public Information Office is to provide clear and open communications to the citizens of Athens-Clarke County about the government’s goals, activities, and services. The office was established in 1997. The Public Information Office manages and maintains ACTV cable channel 7 (the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government's informational TV channel on Charter Communication), as well as the official Athens-Clarke County website. 

Services
The office also produces the monthly ACCent employee newsletter and the ACC from A to Z citizen guide to Athens-Clarke County services, works with media outlets regarding unified government activities, hosts special events, and fields citizen questions and concerns.
