The 35th Juried Exhibition was a professionally oriented art competition open to Athens area artists working in all visual media. More than 190 Athens area artists submitted more than 740 pieces in a wide variety of media, from very large sculptures and paintings to delicate and beautifully wrought jewelry. The juror, Ron Platt, Hugh Kaul Curator of Modern & Contemporary Art at the Birmingham Museum of Art, selected over 140 pieces for display in the exhibition.
