Welcome to the Oconee Rivers Greenway page.  The Greenway is a linear park system that provides wildlife corridors, open spaces and a family friendly multi use path for the public's enjoyment.  Currently, the North Oconee River Greenway provides 3.75 miles of concrete path that is designated for non-motorized use.

If you are interested in visiting the Greenway,  please view our map for details on location, distances and access points.

Interested in learning more?  We have a great video that summarizes the ideas, people and origins of the Greenway in Athens.  You can also take a podtour  for a more in-depth history of our Greenway and the rivers that it helps protect.  Guided tours and informative presentations are available for civic groups and other organizations.  Visit our Speaker's Bureau page for further information.

Interested in Greenway Planning in Athens-Clarke County?  We are currently in the process of updating the level one and two Greenway Network Plan maps. Please visit our Greenway Network Plan page for more information.

Would you like to play an active role in the protection and planning for our future greenway system?  Please visit the Oconee Rivers Greenway Commission page for information about current commission openings.
