“Connect” Clarke County School District Student Art Exhibition on View
at Lyndon House Arts Center
The Lyndon House Arts Center will host the opening of the Biennial program, the Clarke County School District Student Art Exhibition on November 11. This year’s theme and title is “Connect.” This theme was selected, as art is a wonderful way to discuss the needs of our time, to describe who we are, and to reach out to our neighbor, our city, and beyond.
The biennial exhibition of artworks by the students of the Clarke County School District is a favorite among citizens. With an amazing team of public school art teachers, every other year, the Lyndon House hosts hundreds of artworks created by our future generation. Each artist, in grades Pre-K through 12 use their experience and creativity to investigate a theme through painting, fiber, printmaking, sculpture and more.
The opening reception is planned for Saturday, November 11 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Under the direction of Dr. Eunice Kang, the Clarke Central High School Honors Chamber Strings will perform for a minimum of 45 minutes beginning at 2:00 p.m.
The exhibition opens Saturday, November 11 and continues through Saturday, January 13. All exhibitions are free and open to the public during regular gallery hours of Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 9:00 p.m., and Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Lyndon House is closed on Saturdays when there is a University of Georgia home football game. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
This exhibition is accompanied by a beautiful publication with each student artist’s work pictured. The catalog is available to each child in the show and as quantity continues, these are available to family, friends and all.
