Judge Toni Graven Pomerene has lived and worked in Athens, GA since 1996. She was appointed as a judge in the Athens-Clarke County Magistrate Court in April 2010.
Judge Pomerene received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, and a law degree from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota.
In Athens, Judge Pomerene has worked as an attorney and adjunct professor at the University of Georgia. Since March 1999, she has served as an instructor of Paralegal Studies at Athens Technical College.
Before coming to Athens, Judge Pomerene was senior partner in the law firm of Wilson and Pomerene, P.A. in Minnesota. She also served as a county prosecutor and worked as a mediator, arbitrator, court-appointed settlement referee, and Judge Pro Tem.
