"The Game Show" Exhibition at Lyndon House Arts Center

Saturday, August 12, 2017

The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department announces the opening of the fall exhibit, The Game Show at Lyndon House Arts Center.

The Game Show includes interactive work by Esteban Patino, sculpture by Curtis Ames, Lea Purvis, paintings by Meg Aubrey and Noah McCarthy, photographs by Nicole Jean Hill, and video by Paul Pfeiffer. Mike Landers has created wall-hanging works from LEGOs. Hope Hilton will create collaborative new work for the exhibit and artist Kaleena Stasiak will design a scavenger hunt. These artists investigate notions of leisure, competition, and physicality/sports. Looking at how we develop as individuals through the nature of group activities, whether designed for competition or the spontaneous pastime of play, this exhibit reflects on how the player defines the group and the community. The opening reception is set for Thursday, September 7 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

This exhibition will be on view from August 12 - October 17 during regular gallery hours of
