Tallassee Forest Master Plan

In 2012, Athens-Clarke County acquired a 310 acre greenspace on Tallassee Road, near Burney-Harris Lyons Middle School. The property features dramatic floodplains along the Middle Oconee River with a bottom-land forest and stands of native river cane, mature upland forests with American holly, a wetland, and a rocky creek. Master Planning is underway to establish a park on this property. Sign up for updates on the planning process and information on upcoming meetings using the link to the right.
