Support Blue Restaurants and Bars!

“Use water wisely” isn’t only a slogan for households – restaurants and bars in our community can use a lot of water too! Water efficiency is important everywhere we go. So when you step out for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, head to a Certified Blue restaurant. These conscientious businesses are working hard to reduce their water usage, which helps to safeguard our water systems and resources.

When you support a “Blue” restaurant, you’re helping our water, too!

About Certified Blue

Certified Blue helps restaurants, bars, and institutions in Athens-Clarke County use less water and promote efficient water use in our community. The basis for this effort is “WaterSense at Work,” which was developed as part of the federal EPA’s WaterSense program. WaterSense at Work is a compilation of best management practices for business and institutional facility owners that provides guidance in water efficiency and improves water use management.

About 65,000 people work in Athens and it is the commercial heart of Northeast Georgia. Through the Certified Blue program, employees and customers are encouraged to be efficient water users where they work, dine, and socialize. The goal is not only to reinforce water efficiency throughout these daily activities, but also to raise awareness of the benefits of wise water use and to encourage people to take the message home.
