The Public Information Office is not currently accepting internship applications for general interns. However, the office is seeking interns through May 6 for a Camera Ready intern for summer 2016 for film-related projects. Interested students or recent graduates can find out more and apply online.

General Information

Interns are an important part of the Athens-Clarke County Public Information Office and actively assist in many of the programs that inform the public and employees about the Unified Government.
Interns must be enrolled in school and do receive a stipend. Interns are selected a semester at a time for spring, summer, and fall, although some interns may be selected for multiple semesters.

Intern Duties & Responsibilities (General Internship)

Duties will vary based on the projects at the time, but may include assisting Public Information Office with:
  • Programming on ACTV cable channel 180
  • Special events
  • Newsletter distribution & production
  • Public relations materials
  • Research;
  • Web site updates
  • General office work (copying, filing, phones, faxing, etc.)
  • Assisting the public with inquiries
  • Photography
  • Special projects
  • Writing articles for publication in newsletters / magazines / newspapers / Web site
  • Layout & design
  • Writing media releases
  • Information collection & distribution
