What Makes Athens Beautiful? You do!

Every year, in honor of GreenFest and Keep America Beautiful’s Great American Cleanup, Keep Athens-Clarke County Beautiful (KACCB) challenges Athenians to get outside and make their town beautiful!

Adopt-A-Highway groups are challenged to complete a roadside cleanup of their adopted road during GreenFest. During April 2017, 732 volunteers from 36 groups picked up 160 bags of trash and 51 bags of recyclables from our roadways for a total of 42 cleanups and 1,022 volunteer hours!

KACCB offers Down and Dirty Cleanups for groups that are seeking a one-time service project, such as cleaning up a stretch of road, doing a planting project, scraping stickers downtown, removing litter from waterways, or any project that makes our community cleaner and more beautiful. KACCB can provide a wide variety of tools and support to have for a rewarding workday.

To learn more, contact KACCB at stacy.smith@athensclarkecounty.com or (706) 613-3501, ext. 309.
