Come out and play!   Many of our playgrounds are open sunrise to sunset. 

Bishop Park
The larger Bishop Park playground is located in the rear of the gymnasium building.  A smaller playground is adjacent to Field Three.  The playground is open Monday-Friday at 8:00 a.m. and Saturday-Sunday at 9:00 a.m.

East Athens Community Center

The playground is located north of the community center and was completed in May 2011. The East Athens Community Center playground is open sunrise to sunset.

Lay Park
Located across from the facility's parking lot, the playground was replaced in 2007.  The playground is open daily, sunrise to sunset.

Memorial Park
The playground is located adjacent to the lake.  The Memorial Park playground opens at 8:00 a.m. Monday - Friday and 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Reese and Pope Park

Reese and Pope Park Playground
This playground was built in 2009 and includes a spider web climbing apparatus. The Reese and Pope Park playground is open daily, sunrise to sunset.

Rocksprings Park

Rocksprings Park's Pirate Ship Themed Playground
The new pirate ship-themed playground opened in December 2010 at Rocksprings Park. The playground is open daily, sunrise to sunset.

Sandy Creek Park
Sandy Creek Park has two playgrounds.  The first playground is located on the main circle, near the beach.  The Dino Tot Lot is for younger children is near the boat ramp area.  The playgrounds open at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday-Sunday in the summer.  In the winter, the playgrounds open at 8:00 a.m.

Satterfield Park
The playground is located in the rear of the park between the ballfields.  The Satterfield Park playground is open daily, sunrise to sunset.

Southeast Clarke Park

World of Wonder Playground
A project to replace the World of Wonder Playground is underway.  Full details can be found on the on the Park Planning website.

This unique playground, located at 550 Whit Davis Road in Southeast Clarke Park, was constructed in 2004 by 1,500 volunteers. It is the largest volunteer built playground in the state of Georgia.

The area includes elevated walkways and climbing structures providing children a view of the park from above. The Tot Lot especially for children ages 2 to 5, includes swings. Castle Towers flank either side of the entrance to the World of Wonder Playground 
In 2008, the dragon was added to the side of the playground. 

The WOW Playground also includes an adjacent picnic shelter with four picnic tables and a grill.  The shelter may be reserved, for a fee, for birthday parties, picnics and family get-togethers by calling 706-613-3991.
The playground is open Monday-Friday at 8:00 a.m.; Saturday-Sunday at 9:00 a.m. and closes at sunset.

Trail Creek Park (formerly East Athens Community Park)
Located near the popular Splash Pad, this playground was added in 2013 and includes a climbing rock, swings, and climbing structures that resemble jacks.  The playground is open daily, 8:00 a.m. - sunset.
