Project 15: Computer Aided Dispatch and Records Management System

Project Description
This project replaced the Police Department's outdated Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Records Management System (RMS) software to meet current standards and capabilities.  The Project serves as the basis for future integration of technologies such as mobile data computing, as well the basis for the Police Department’s role in information sharing within a local, regional, and statewide integrated justice information systems.

This project included the installation of new computer servers, installation of the new CAD and RMS software, conversion of current data into the new system, and training of support staff and personnel on the configuration and use of the new system

  • The overall Project is complete. The new Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system went into operation on December 5, 2007; and the new Records Management System (RMS) went into operation on February 3, 2009.
