Wings of Freedom Tour - Oct. 27-29

Three of the most famous World War II bomber and fighter aircraft - the B-17 Flying Fortress, the B-24 Liberator, and the P-51 Mustang - will visit the Athens-Ben Epps Airport on:
  • Mon., Oct. 27 - Noon - 4:30 p.m.
  • Tues., Oct. 28 - 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Wed., Oct. 29 - 9:00 a.m. - Noon
For a fee, visitors can tour the aircraft or even take a flight on the bombers or have flight training in the P-51C Mustang.

Airport Divisions
Divisions of the airport department include administration, airfield maintenance, fire/rescue, and flight line operations. Businesses operating on the airport include aircraft maintenance and management, avionics, flight training, jet aircraft leasing, aircraft ground servicing, car rentals, airlines, the Transportation Safety Administration, Georgia State Patrol Aviation Division and Georgia Forestry Commission. Clubs and organizations include the Civil Air Patrol, the University of Georgia Aviation Club, and the Experimental Aircraft Association.
