FOR OCONEE COUNTY RESIDENTS!

KOCB chipper 16
The weather forecast for Friday night and Saturday morning is looking wet and cold. To ensure the safety of our volunteers, we are cancelling the Bring One for the Chipper EVENT. This means that there will be no volunteers at the Chipper sites on Saturday morning.

However, not to worry! Athens-Clarke County will still be providing Christmas Tree Recycling. We currently have rolloffs for Christmas Trees at the Lexington Road Tag Office, Cofer’s Home & Garden, and the Georgia Square Mall Theater. We will also provide rolloffs for Christmas Trees at Clarke Middle School and Chase Street Elementary School on Saturday the 7th and Sunday the 8th. Undecorated Christmas Trees may still be dropped at all of the Chipper sites and will be recycled.

*Please do not drop wire or metal (from wreaths and garlands) at the sites. We do not have volunteers to separate these items. Those wishing to recycle wreaths and garlands can remove the metal from the greenery and take the metal to the CHaRM for recycling. *

Drop-off Locations
Cofer’s Home and Garden Showplace
Clarke Middle School
Sandy Creek Nature Center
Chase Street Elementary School
CHaRM (M & W 10 -7 and Sat 8-12)

Recycling Centers*

Winterville Public Works Building
Lexington Road Tag Office

*Recycling Centers are open December 25th to January 11th. These sites are unstaffed, but you may deposit your tree in the specially marked rolloffs.

Undecorated trees put out for leaf and limb will also be recycled. Check the Leaf & Limb schedule to determine the pick-up schedule for your zone. You can also drop off Christmas trees at the Athens-Clarke County Landfill for recycling free of charge and the CHaRM (see website for hours and closures).
